HugNation

A place for Huggers, Dreamers & Life Students

Here was some simple video posted on YT with humor and mirth being the intention behind making the video as well as posting it up for the world to see. Of course, YouTube can be like Pandora's box so its not like I didnt see this coming.

Then, the hate. It went beyond simple snark and went into "you have altered my reality and so I think you should have bodily harm happen to you as a result." Wha? Thats just not cool but its like "if you had such a negative experience, what makes you decide to spew that out on the world to an unknown human being?"

That part just disturbed me, made me shudder a bit. I think as an artist, it bothered me more because I have done art pieces to evoke countless emotions (joy, sadness, anger, confusion, folly, mirth) but I have never seen any of my creative endeavors spark such *hatred* in another human being that he would want me to use lead paint on myself. WTF?

However, over the course of my lunch break, I decided to do a bit of balancing. I decided to take my love that I feel for creative souls in thsi world, and start spreading really good comments out there on YouTube. More and more, Im seeing YT videos turn into all out battles about racism and politics...even on videos completely unrelated to those kinds of things.

There needs to be balance. I found some videos out there of other people doing something creative (mostly costuming since thats what comes up in related videos) and am looking at it. I see more people out there who are really enjoying life. I am sending positive messages and vibes thier way. Not flattery. Just attempting to peel back the black curtain in those dark places that are devoid of hugs, and positivity. Let some light in.

Would anyone be interested in this "experiment"?
