When I go to major events, I try to come up with a question to ask everyone. Instead of being blah and saying "tell me about your website," I ask things like... one conference I asked everyone, "tell me how you met your wife..." and last SXSW, I asked everyone, "tell me about your worst ever injury... and you have to use sound effects."
